The Linux I – Linux System Fundamentals course serves as the starting point for learners entering the world of Linux system administration and open-source computing. Aligned with the LPIC-1 Linux Administrator Exam 101, this course provides a solid foundation in Linux operating system concepts, command-line usage, system architecture, filesystems, and administration basics.

Students are introduced to the Linux ecosystem through a practical, hands-on approach that develops both conceptual understanding and real-world operational skills. The course explores how Linux systems boot and operate internally, how files and permissions are managed, and how system resources and processes interact within a multi-user environment.

Strong emphasis is placed on command-line proficiency, as students learn to navigate Linux systems, manage files and directories, monitor processes, work with text-processing tools, install software packages, configure hardware, and administer storage systems. Learners also gain practical experience with shell environments, system utilities, and automation techniques used by Linux administrators.

Through guided labs and practical exercises, students develop troubleshooting skills and learn best practices in system administration, security, and task automation.
